Job Summary:
Over daily infusion operations for assigned composite parts, ensuring vacuum integrity, resin handling, and infusion processes meet quality standards. Working with technicians and boatbuilders to main production throughput while adhering to build books, schedules, and inspection criteria. Collaborate cross-functionally with CNC and design teams and support broader assembly efforts when not directly engaged in infusion tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow build books, part-specific instructions, and production schedules.
- Ensure parts meet post-cure and final inspection standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
- Collaborate with CNC and design departments for optimal part preparation and transition.
- When not performing infusion, assist fellow technicians with installing composite components and supporting overall build progress.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Must have Composite Infusion experience. Experience working with structural carbon fiber, large molds, and post-cure procedure is required.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of composite vacuum bagging and resin flow behavior.
- Experience with carbon fiber layups and post-cure procedures.
- Ability to read work instructions, build books, and assembly drawings.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Working is performed in air-conditioning tented workspaces. Fast-paced environment with frequent standing, bending, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Work is performed in a marine and industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying weather conditions.
- Involves time spent in both an office setting and the boatyard.
- May involve working in confined spaces, at heights, or in awkward positions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Requires the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary.
